IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This course is a Parent-Taught Driving Course. As such, students are allowed to progress through the lessons at their own pace. However, it is the “Parent-Instructor’s” responsibility to monitor their student’s progress and to make sure that their student successfully completes all course requirements within one (1) year from the receipt “Order Date.”

Current Texas Driver Education & Safety Administrative Rules state that a student CANNOT exceed six (6) hours of driver education instruction per day

Module 1: CAN be completed on the same day of enrollment.

Modules 1-12: CANNOT be completed sooner than 6 days from the PTDE Guide Receipt date and from the date of enrollment into our course. Meaning, you CANNOT complete Modules 1-12 sooner than 6 days from the start of the course.

For your convenience, our course is self-paced. It is the “Designated Parent-Instructor’s” responsibility to monitor, track & record their student’s course progress and to make sure that their student does NOT exceed the current daily instruction limits noted in the Texas Driver Education & Safety Administrative Rules.

Daily Instruction Limits:

  • Option 1: Six (6) Hours of Classroom Instruction & Zero (0) Hours of In-Car Instruction per day; or

  1. Am I required to submit the classroom log to DPS?

NO, DPS does not require the Classroom Log.

However, they may request the 14 Hour & 30 Hour Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Logs when applying for a Provisional License.

The Texas Department of Public Safety will require a valid, completed & signed DE964 certificate of completion as proof that the course requirements have been successfully completed. 👍

Please note that it is the “Parent-Instructor’s” responsibility to monitor, track & record their student’s course progress & dates.

Please Note: Current Texas Driver Education & Safety Administrative Rules, state that a student CANNOT exceed six (6) hours of driver education instruction per day.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Option 1: Six (6) Hours of Classroom Instruction & Zero (0) Hours of In-Car Instruction per day; or

  • Option 2: Four (4) Hours of Classroom Instruction & Two (2) hours of In-Car Instruction per day

Module 1: CAN be completed on the same day of enrollment.

Modules 2-12: CANNOT be completed sooner than 6 days from the PTDE Guide Receipt date and from the date of enrollment into our course. Meaning, you CANNOT complete Modules 1-12 sooner than 6 days from the start of the course.

Additionally, it is the account holder’s responsibility to download and save all certificates, forms and files (DE964 Certificates, Logs, etc…) required for the Permitting & Licensing process.
